Mmmmm.....Korean Barbeque

As some of you may know, Sean tutored for a family called the Ji's. They are a Korean family who owns this restaraunt called Chosun Galbee. It is amazingly beautiful and super delicious! We have been many times with the gift cards they so generously provide. And I am sad to say that this may have been the last time... Sean is no longer tutoring for them since their son graduated from high school. (And we can't afford it on our own!) It's too bad since we had finally gotten the hang of ordering the right amount of food--not like the first time with the Lees and Millers when we all about burst! But we went out with a bang with the Pulisphers and Nelsons last week. Here are few photos from the grande finale.

Further vs. Farther

For those interested in the correct usage of further/farther....

"Further" in Degree
"Farther" in Distance

Hope this helps!!

Halloween...Disney Style

Few times of year are as exciting as Halloween for me! It has always been my favorite! And put that together with Disneyland and it is pretty much bliss for me! So, we went out Friday night with our friends Carrie and John and met some of thier friends--John & Sara--for a night-o-disney!! The highlight was definitely the Haunted Mansion--Nightmare before Christmas Style. We also rode the new Nemo ride for the first time. It was cute, but note: don't ride it at 11:45 PM...we were all dozing--it is a 14 minute ride.

It was really neat to see the park decorated with pumpkin Mickeys and kids running around in costumes trick-or-treating at California Adventure and these giant candy corns taking the places of the "A" in CALIFORNIA. I felt like a kid atin a candy shop!!

The night was complete when we enjoyed an apple-pie carameled apple on main street. Yum!!

Glory Bound

Sean's big brother, Chris (yes, the hot one) was in town this weekend, so we decided to take in a Martin Sexton concert at the Anaheim House of Blues with some other chums--JD and Kallie. I have been wanting to see Martin for ages, but was never able to make it to a show. The long wait was worth it. He did not disappoint. In addition to seemingly having the same DNA as Jack Black (honestly, do they have the same mom? Though he is the non-comedic version), he is a musical genious. I am so jealous of those who can make it look so easy! His folky/bluesy sound takes me to a front porch in summer sipping a lemonade.
Check out one of my favorite songs: Halleluia
He was also featured on Scrubs with this song Diner.

Funny Story

So, the students were doing an assignment today, and as I made my way around to correct them, I noticed that Jesse had written "farther" instead of "further." So I tried to correct him and the conversation went like this:

Mrs. Young: "Jesse, you mean further, not farther."

Jesse: "What?"

Mrs. Young: "You wrote farther, but it should say further."

Jesse: "So, F-A-R-T-H-E-R??"

Mrs. Young: "No, F-U!"

(Jesse didn't even bat an eye!)

Guess who's back?!?!

That's right...after 5 long weeks, Sean is back in the City of Angels. He seemed to have a good time at both OHSU (Portland) and UCSF (San Francisco) and got to be in on some very interesting surgical cases. But boy, did I miss him!! In fact here are a few things I missed most:
  • 1. His smell.

2. Dancing in the kitchen.

3. Waking me up after I have fallen asleep on the couch and dragging me into bed.

4. Making me to brush my teeth every night.

5. Making my Sunday breakfast (and any other meals for that matter.)

6. Someone to accompany me to dinners and movies--I was starting to feel like the 3rd/5th wheel, right Nelsons & Pulsiphers!! (They kept calling me the "Widow Young")

7. His laugh & his jokes that make me laugh!

Welcome home snookums!!
